Appalachia Service Project provides one of the most rewarding structured service opportunities for high school youth in the nation — bringing teams of high school volunteers from around the country to Central Appalachia to repair and replace homes for low-income families.
During this moving experience, the students spend a week helping people in need by making homes warmer, safer, and drier. Many return with new insight into the ways poverty affects people and families. We've heard the youth and adults who attend consider the week helping those in need a life-changing event.
