Yesterday, November 17, 2020 our church Session made the decision to keep the church closed to:
- in-person worship and
- in-person meetings whether inside or outside of the building until at least January 1, 2021.
This includes but is not limited to AA, EA, MOPS, Worship and Sunday school., We will always have online Worship available.
This decision was made due to high Covid numbers and a desire to love our neighbor as yourself. This decision may be revisited if COVID numbers significantly drop or the governor changes the states levels.
While the building may be closed, the staff will be working in the building (office open 9am-2pm) and the mission of the church is alive. All our plans for Advent are COVID safe and will bring the holiday to you as best we can. Our mission to Kemmerer Village, and the local food banks will continue as always. Pastoral Care and community, while not in person, will carry on.
While this is not the message you wanted to read, we do this now so that when we all gather again, all of us will be there. I know that most of us have had to change our plans for Thanksgiving and this is not the holiday season we hoped for. It almost feels like exile, but know that God is always present in exile. Join us on Facebook live this Sunday for a worship service featuring a sermon on how to thankful even in 2020. Please know that pastoral care is available at any time by calling the church or reaching out to Pastor Yvette at 630-207-6066.
